About the Pekingese

It’s no wonder they have been favored for years by royalty. The Pekingese is a regal dog that conducts himself or herself with strangers with poise and grace. They are very friendly. However, they seem to sense when their owner is apprehensive of a stranger and the Pekingese can switch his personality to guard dog-like traits when needed. They are extremely protective of their families.
The Pekingese make wonderful companions for families with older children as well as adults. They are very good with younger children as well as long as the child knows not to be too rough with them since they are a small dog.
